Baidu, the Chinese search engine and web services company, has released the Baidu Blockchain White Paper VI.0. The information was released a few days ago by the Chinese internet giant.
Super Chain Network System
The new white paper focuses on the development of the Super Chain network system. According to the release, the network would be able to handle more than 10,000 transactions per second (TPS). In order to support this high amount of TPS, the platform uses an inter-chain parallel technology and stereoscopic network.
Additionally, the paper analyzes the possibility of commercializing different products and services. For example, it could offer the Baidu cloud blockchain-as-a-service (BaaS) platform and other six applications. The paper mentions the following applications:
- Baidu Association (Huixie)
- Encyclopedia Online
- Treasure Box
- Degree Universe
These applications provide different tools for users on the platform. Some of the services included are a platform to create a curriculum vitae, the Chinese equivalent to Wikipedia and more.
Baidu’s Chief Architect said about the announcement:
“We will further promote the open source and openness of the Xuperchain in the future, and provide the XuperChain as an infrastructure to all developer… We look forward to working with the industry to build a trusted ecosystem of blockchains.”
Baidu is working so as to bring blockchain technology to many different areas in the economy. This technology is able to improve food safety, supply chains, finances and many other fields.
However, this is not the first time that an important Chinese company starts working with Blockchain technology. In the past, we wrote at UseTheBitcoin that JD.com was launching an accelerator program. This would allow the industry to spread in the country and all over the world.
Additionally, JD.com was working on a system specifically designed for customers to track the meat they buy.
Companies everywhere are implementing different blockchain systems to improve their services. Distributed ledger technology helps enterprises build new and revolutionizing products.
China is also one of the countries with the largest number of blockchain patents registered.
