Yoroi Wallet Released to the Market
Charles Hoskinson is the creator of Cardano and co-founder of IOHK. He informed to the community that Yoroi Wallet was already available on the mainnet. On a tweet released on October 1, he asked the community to try the wallet out and share their experience.

Yoroi works as a Google Chrome browser extension, similar to other wallets available. It takes up little bandwidth because it is a lightweight wallet. This is important because it saves up a lot of space since it is not necessary to download the full blockchain. Additionally, the private keys are stored on computers and not centralized servers.
The Yoroi wallet can be synchronized with Cardano’s full-node wallet known as Daedalus. This allows the wallet to connect to servers and download a full copy of the blockchain network.
Yoroi Wallet’s official Twitter account wrote informing about the new wallet:
“Today is a big day: we released Yoroi on the mainnet! Users can send, receive and store ADA on a web wallet that is fast and secure. Are you as excited as we are?!”
The company behind this wallet is Emurgo, which actively participates in the development of the Cardano network. Yoroi was born as a result of a hard fork of IOHK’s Icarus, which was initiated at the beginning of the year. The company aimed at creating a lightweight Cardano wallet, and this is what they were able to achieve with Yoroi.
At the moment of writing, Cardano (ADA) is the ninth largest cryptocurrency according to its market capitalization. In the last 24 hours, it has lost 1.34% and each ADA token can be bought for $0.08275 dollars. Furthermore, Cardano has a market capitalization of $2.15 billion dollars.
