Tron (TRX) and BitTorrent Token (BTT) are now supported by the cryptocurrency exchange CEX.IO. The information was confirmed by the exchange a few hours ago in a blog post. This comes after informing that they were analysing the possibility to list several digital currencies.Â
CEX.IO Adds Tron and BitTorrent Support
In order to remain competitive and attract more traders and users, the cryptocurrency exchange CEX.IO decided to list two new coins, BitTorrent Token and Tron. These two digital assets were created by the Tron Foundation and have been operating in the market for several months.Â
One of the main reasons the exchange decided to list these two cryptocurrencies is due to a large number of requests that the company received during the last months.Â
In the official announcement, CEX.IO wrote:
“We’re glad to announce the upcoming listing of two new coins on CEX.IO — TRON (TRX) and BitTorrent (BTT), the partnering projects with a common vision of decentralizing the web.”
There are going to be three different trading pairs for each of these digital assets, including TRX/USD, TRX/EUR, TRX/BTC, BTT/USD, BTT/EUR and BTT/BTC. These digital assets are based on the Tron blockchain network that aims at creating a scalable and decentralized web infrastructure in the future.Â
Although the announcement has been well-received for the community the effect on the price of these virtual currencies is limited. Indeed, BitTorrent Token is currently falling 4.53% in the last 24 hours, compared to Bitcoin (BTC) that is expanding almost 6% during the same period of time. Meanwhile, Tron is growing a timid 1.12%.Â
BTT is the 37th largest virtual currency with a market capitalization of $274 million, according to CoinMarketCap. In addition to it, each BTT can be purchased for $0.001292. Tron is the tenth-largest digital asset with a market valuation of $2.29 billion and a price per TRX of $0.034415.Â
The exchange has also announced that they were preparing the listing of many different projects in the industry, including Cardano (ADA), Aeternity (AE), Basic Attention Token (BAT), BitTorrent, EOS, GAS, HOLO (HOT), IOTA (MIOTA), MetaHash (MHC), NEO (NEO), Ontology (ONT), TRON (TRX), NEM (XEM), and Tezos (XTZ).Â
The two coins that have been recently added to the platform, TRX and BTT are going to be available for trading as soon as on July 10th, 2019.
