Bitmain, a leading mining rig manufacturer, is expected to debut a cutting-edge bitcoin (BTC) miner at the 2023 World Digital Mining Summit (WDMS) in Hong Kong in September. Bitmain’s Antminer S21, the market’s most powerful machine, ushers in the 1X joules per terahash (J/T) era.
Weixin reported that this new mining rig will debut at the 2023 WDMS in Hong Kong from September 22 to 23. Colin “Wu Blockchain” confirmed the Antminer S21’s existence.
“Bitmain announced that it will hold the Summit in Hong Kong from September 22 to 23, 2023 and release the latest Antminer S21 bitcoin mining machine,” the reporter on X said. It says the energy efficiency ratio is below 20 J/T for the first time.
Weixin reports that the machine will lead “the global mining industry into the 1X J/T era with unparalleled computing power and performance.” Bitmain also launched a customer point system for S21 purchasers, offering discounts. The report does not include the S21’s terahash production or whether it will be a series of miners.
In May, Microbt unveiled the M53S++, a hydro-cooling Whatsminer with 320 terahash per second (TH/s) and 22 J/T efficiency. Bitmain’s best miners, the Antminer S19 Pro Hydro and XP Hydro, achieve 184 and 257 TH/s, respectively. Bitmain’s XP bitcoin miner registers 20.8 J/T.
