“We will pursue you from all angles with the full extent of the law,” stated Curve, Metronome, and Alchemix.
Curve Finance and other victims of last week’s crypto loan theft have given their hackers a 10% prize to return their tokens.
“You will have no risk of us pursuing this further, no risk of law enforcement issues, etc,” Curve, Metronome, and Alchemix said in an Ethereum address hacker’s on-chain message. At 0800 UTC on August 6, the trio’s bounty will become a vigilante payout to anyone who helps apprehend and jail the hacker.
“We will pursue you from all angles with the full extent of the law,” the message added.
On Sunday, an anonymous hacker exploited a bug to empty multiple trading pools at Curve, Metronome, and Alchemix, losing roughly $62 million. The hackers still have most of the tokens, but they’ve recovered several from front-runners who accidentally beat them.
Curve followed Euler, another DeFi system that lost huge sums to hackers in 2023 and then successfully negotiated their restoration with its outreach efforts.
