The thirteenth crypto coin by market cap, Dash has surpassed all the other top cryptocurrencies regarding transactions processed within 24 hours. On Sunday, a stress test was executed by the Dash team and resulted in over 3.5 million successful transactions going through in a single day. More importantly, the network did not experience any congestions.
Dash Now Holds The Record For The Most Transactions In A Single Day
The stress test ensures that Dash now holds the record for the most transactions ever recorded in a single day. According to data presented by Bitinfocharts, it has surpassed the numbers previously posted by Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Ripple (XRP) and Bitcoin Cash (BCH).
The stress test was held on November 11, 2018, on the Dash network. It was a community-driven stress test of the Dash blockchain and was live on the stresstest.mydashwallet.org.
According to Mark Mason, the director of Media & PR at Dash, the previous stress test was held in July of this year and managed to record 700,000 transactions in a single day. It means the current record of 3.5 million is five times better which is quite impressive.
Bitcoin Cash held the previous industry record at 2.1 million transactions in 24 hours.
Mason took to Twitter to express his delight tweeting:
“I would like to extend a big thank you to Delta engine and MyDashWallet for orchestrating the test, the final transaction count for the 24-hour period was over 3 million, which is a new record and all-time high the number of transactions achieved by a Bitcoin-based blockchain.”
He goes on to state that the stress tests are not just for bragging rights. They must push the blockchain to its limits by identifying the problem areas they need to improve upon.
He adds that this is just the beginning and those that thought on chain scaling was impossible in the past now have been proved wrong.
Harshit Tiwari another Twitter users and a member of the Dash community was also excited tweeting:
“We did it. That’s a NEW RECORD! Cheers to all the community members. Glad to be a part of this. Dash Dash Dash!”
