The Web3 Incubation Program, which Astar Network, the smart contract platform for multichain, is co-hosting with Sony Network Communications, Inc., an operational business of the Sony Group, has gotten a resoundingly positive reaction from developers all around the world.

Since the Incubation Program started taking applications on February 17, 2023, more than 150 people have registered. On Monday, March 6th, at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time, registration will conclude. The deadline for submitting applications is still open for interested developers, and they can do so by visiting the following page.

Sony Network Communications and Astar will power the Web3 Incubation Program from mid-March to mid-June. Sony Network Communications and Astar Foundation will each evaluate all applications and choose ten to fifteen cohorts. Sony and Astar will collaborate with Startale Labs, a Singapore-based firm formed by Astar Network CEO Sota Watanabe, to manage the incubation program.

In a statement, Sota Watanabe, CEO of Startale Labs and Astar Network, expressed his excitement about the growth of their developer community and the new projects that have joined their Web3 Incubation Program with Sony Network Communications. He also mentioned their readiness to begin the next stage of the program, where the incubated projects will work with a group of mentors from elite companies such as AWS, Polychain, and Microsoft.

Sony Network Communications is examining how blockchain technology might be utilized to solve industry-specific issues. This Incubation program with Astar Network enables them to seek appropriate Web3 solutions promptly. They will pool their resources and knowledge to foster Web3 initiatives centered on the utility of NFTs and DAOs.

The program encourages participants from all over the world, irrespective of their Web3 startup stage. It will include learning sessions with global VC firms such as Dragonfly, Fenbushi Capital, Alchemy Ventures, and Web3 firms and business and technology strategy workshops.

The individuals who will lead the mentorship sessions include Ryohei Suzuki, who is a director at Sony Network Communications Singapore; Teemu Pohjola, who serves as the general manager at Sony R&D Center Brussels lab and deputy’s head; Sota Watanabe, who is the founder of Astar Network and CEO at Startale Labs; and Maarten Henskens, who currently holds the position of chief growth officer at Astar Network and many more.

During Japan Blockchain Week in mid-June, Sony Group’s headquarters in Tokyo will host an offline demo day. Companies that show promise will be evaluated for potential investment from Sony Network Communications.
