Every Fortnite player who spends 10 minutes or more on the virtual island themed after Air Max will get the Air Max 1 ’86 Back Bling digital shoe.
Nike’s Web3 community platform .SWOOSH has partnered with the well-known online multiplayer game Fortnite to present a virtual activity that will award players with digital footwear. With over 240 million users accessing Fortnite in only the past 30 days, this greatly expands the audience for Nike’s.SWOOSH.
From now until June 27, players of Fortnite will be able to play “Airphoria,” a partnership between Nike, Fortnite’s developer Epic Games, and branded game developer Beyond Creative. The Air Max 1 ’86 Back Bling digital sneaker in Fortnite will be given to every player who spends 10 minutes or more on this island.
Additionally, while Airphoria is available, gamers who link their Epic Games and Nike accounts will be able to earn a “Achievement” on .SWOOSH. Achievements don’t have a monetary worth and can’t be sold or traded.
Epic’s cooperation with Nike and the launch of ‘Airphoria’ is one of many potential collaborations that allow players to connect their online presence across ecosystems. With cosmetics, Fortnite islands, and account connectivity between Nike and Epic, Nike is adding its Air Max brand to Fortnite.”SWOOSH achievement badges for linked accounts,” an Epic Games official informed CoinDesk. “NFTs or digital item trading marketplaces are not integrated into Fortnite’s world or economy through Nike.”
The Airie and Maxxed Out Max outfits, which are available in the Fortnite Item Shop, are just two of the digital products that Nike and Fortnite have created together.
Linking your Epic Games and .SWOOSH accounts will grant you early access to any upcoming .SWOOSH Air Max virtual collection, therefore players are encouraged to do so. Epic Games claims that account linking will enable interoperability for virtual items like Fortnite skins and Nike accomplishments, starting with the ability to claim .SWOOSH achievements when you account link or buy a cosmetic.
BitGo, a provider of third-party wallets for cryptocurrency, is used by .SWOOSH.

Our Force 1, a line of non-fungible token (NFT) sneakers just recently produced by SWOOSH, outsold $1 million in initial sales despite many delays. The collection comprises a total quantity of 62,250 OF1 boxes, which were sold for $19.82 each, according to Polygonscan.
On June 15, Nike gave holders permission to show their NFTs, dropping hints about future rarity and utility. Some Nike digital treasures, according to .SWOOSH, are connected to special advantages including access to tangible goods drops, live experiences, video game use, and more.
The world’s largest footwear company also has aspirations to make its digital creations available on other video game platforms. Nike Virtual Studios, the digital division of the sportswear company, and the maker of video games EA Sports announced a collaboration earlier this month to bring digital works from Nike’s .SWOOSH platform to the EA Sports gaming ecosystem. Electronic Arts’ EA Sports section produces video games including FIFA, Madden NFL, and others.
