JPMorgan Chase is expanding its crypto services through a new partnership with Coinbase, giving Chase customers more ways to access digital assets. The agreement covers crypto purchases with Chase credit cards, USDC redemptions through Chase Ultimate Rewards, and direct bank account connections to Coinbase.
Credit Card Access and Stablecoin Rewards
Starting in fall 2025, eligible Chase customers can use their credit cards to purchase Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other supported cryptocurrencies through Coinbase.
In 2026, Chase customers will also be able to exchange Ultimate Rewards points for USDC, with 100 points equal to $1. They will also be able to link Chase bank accounts directly to Coinbase for easier account funding. Users who want to buy USDC with credit card can also use services that support direct USDC purchases.
JPMorgan’s Broader Crypto Push
The Coinbase partnership follows JPMorgan’s growing interest in digital assets and stablecoins. CEO Jamie Dimon has previously discussed the bank’s work around stablecoins and other crypto-related services.
Reports have also indicated that JPMorgan could offer loans backed by Bitcoin and Ethereum as early as 2026. Such products would give customers another way to use digital assets within traditional banking services.
However, decentralized finance platforms continue to offer crypto-based lending and collateral options outside the traditional banking system. The available assets, fees, risks, and lending conditions can differ between platforms.
What Comes Next
The JPMorgan-Coinbase partnership gives Chase customers additional ways to interact with crypto through familiar banking and rewards products. The planned USDC rewards option and direct bank account connection could also make it easier for existing Chase customers to move between traditional banking and crypto services.
For users, the main changes to watch are the rollout of credit card crypto purchases, USDC rewards redemptions, and direct Chase account linking in 2026.
What this means for you: Chase customers will have more options for accessing crypto, but they should check the applicable fees, eligibility requirements, purchase limits, and terms before using these services.
