Andre Cronje, a Fantom (FTM) co-founder, has hinted that a new bank that accepts cryptocurrencies may open its doors later this year.
According to a recent tweet shared by Cronje, who has 384,500 followers on Twitter, there are plans to launch a new bank that will provide financial services related to cryptocurrencies later this year.
Cronje has suggested that the new bank’s services will probably not be accessible to U.S. citizens, given the current stance of U.S. regulators against cryptocurrency, as he stated on Twitter.
Cronje adds that the financial services would be subject to the know-your-customer (KYC) regulations and guidelines that apply to traditional financial services.
Cronje revealed the banking plans in response to a tweet from the CEO and founder of Curve Finance, Michael Egorov, who claimed that the financial technology company Revolut had barred his account after he disclosed that cryptocurrency was the source of his funds.
