The lack of clear, friendly regulations has prevented widespread crypto adoption. In the U.S., the SEC and CFTC are fighting over which agency should have regulatory purview over the crypto market. This disunity has left investors wondering which cryptos are securities or commodities. Meanwhile, Stellar (XLM) and VC Spectra (SPCT), which raised $2.4 in its seed/private sale, are actively trying to woo investors.

Which of the above top altcoins is seamlessly attracting investors, and why? Continue reading to find out!

Summary

  • CFTC Chair Rostin Behnman endorses more crypto regulation.
  • Stellar (XLM) performs poorly despite a flurry of bullish news.
  • VC Spectra (SPCT) continues offering investors high returns and a 100% bonus on deposits.

CFTC Head Calls For More Crypto Supervision

Rostin Behnman, Chair of the Commodities Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), called for more crypto oversight in Q4 2022. At the time, the CFTC head said the crypto space may threaten the U.S.’ national security, especially after FTX’s collapse.

However, Behnman said banning crypto would not solve the problem, as U.S. citizens would find ways to invest in offshore crypto projects. To this end, he concluded that the space instead needs more regulation. This stance differs from that of SEC Chair Gary Gensler, who vouches for a stricter approach.

However, it is worth noting that even if the CFTC gets more regulatory power over the crypto industry, it will not end the security/commodity debate. This explains why crypto projects have continued trading unperturbed, awaiting the final decision on which agency will eventually regulate the industry.

Stellar (XLM) Flounders Despite Bullish Developments: What’s Next?

Stellar (XLM) has performed deplorably over the past seven days, starting October 5. The Stellar coin was trading around $0.1118 on October 5. By October 12, the Stellar coin had stabilized around $0.1020. This price difference represents an 8.53% drop in seven days.

Notably, losses come even as Stellar (XLM) continues announcing bullish developments. For instance, Stellar (XLM) partnered with Certora on October 11 to introduce unprecedented security to Soroban smart contracts. Despite this bullish Stellar (XLM) news, the Stellar coin failed to tick up, indicating other powers, most likely unclear regulations, are at play.

Nonetheless, experts believe Stellar (XLM) will recover and soar before the end of the year. Analysts set the Stellar price prediction by the end of 2023 at $0.1220, making it one of the top altcoins to watch as regulations improve!
