Deutsche Telekom, one of the largest telecommunication companies in Europe, is ready to become a new validator of the Polygon (MATIC) network. In a recent blog post released by the company, they explained that the goal is to provide staking services for Polygon’s Supernets.
Deutsche Telekom To Become Polygon Validator
Deutsche Telekom is working in order to increase its presence in the blockchain ecosystem. This time, the company announced that it will be enhancing Polygon’s infrastructure by becoming a key validator on the network.
As per the blog post, Polygon is currently running tens of thousands of decentralized applications (dApps), also known as dApps. These dApps became very popular during the last bull run experienced by the whole cryptocurrency industry back in 2021. Users could trade digital currencies and get access to multiple services using different blockchain networks.
According to Dirk Röder, head of the Blockchain Solutions Center at Deutsche Telekom, this ecosystem is developer-friendly and efficient in terms of resources. On that matter, he mentioned:
“The Polygon ecosystem is very developer-friendly and resource-efficient. It is based on the highest security standards of the Ethereum ecosystem. The cooperation with Polygon is an important step for Telekom MMS to fully exploit the potential of blockchain technology and enable mass-market applications.”
According to data shared by CoinGecko, Polygon (MATIC) is the 10th largest virtual currency in the world. Each MATIC has a price of $0.89 and it has a market capitalization of $8.2 billion. This has allowed this digital currency to surpass other popular coins such as Litecoin (LTC), Tron (TRX), or Solana (SOL).
In the future, other companies could join Deutsche Telekom and become Polygon validators.
