In the new reality show, players compete against each other for a prize package that is worth more than $150,000.
In September, there will be a new crypto reality show with 16 people competing for a six-figure prize. Judges and guest stars include crypto celebrities like Brian D. Evans, Layah Heilpern, George Tung, and “BitBoy Crypto.”
“The Next Crypto Gem” is a new competition reality show that will premiere in September. It is a mix of “The Apprentice” and “Shark Tank” with 16 crypto fans fighting for a six-figure prize package.
Contestants will compete against each other in tasks to win a prize package worth about $150,000. It will have well-known crypto influencers Brian D. Evans, Layah Heilpern, and George Tung as judges, as well as guest stars like original “Shark Tank” cast member Kevin Harrington and YouTuber Ben Armstrong, better known as “BitBoy Crypto.”
Jett Tang, the show’s executive producer, said that the show’s main goal is to introduce crypto to a “mass audience for the first time. The teamwork, the competition, the larger-than-life characters, and the out-of-the-box ideas.”
Tang said that one important goal of the show is “to get crypto into the mainstream and to really show crypto, making it interesting and fun.”
Tang said that the first episode’s task is for people who are “the least likely to understand crypto and the most unfriendly to crypto.” The contestants are then split into four teams. To win the task, the teams must show that they can teach the “no coiners” the basics of blockchain.
During each of the six weeks of tasks, there are “The Big Short” moments where one of the judges explains a key crypto term or idea. Tang called these “The Big Short” moments.
Even though the teaching part is important, the focus of the show is on crypto culture and the strange people who work in the field. So, some of the more controversial crypto figures, like “BitBoy Crypto,” got involved with the show. “BitBoy Crypto” has been criticized for promoting certain crypto projects on his famous YouTube channel, most notably for hyping the lender Celsius Network, which has since gone bankrupt.
Tang sought diverse obstacles and “big personalities” to observe how candidates handled crypto culture. Tang has also invited non-crypto celebrities like “High Stakes Poker” star Tom Dwan, who recently won $3.1 million in the largest televised cash pot.
On Sept. 7, Insight TV will stream “The Next Crypto Gem” on Amazon Prime, Pluto TV, Samsung, Vizio LG, and other platforms.
Crypto reality shows have other competitors. CoinMarketCap unveiled its “Shark Tank”-style show “Killer Whale” in May. Entrepreneurs propose Web3 project ideas. Web3 cartoon series “Krapopolis” will premiere in September and has been renewed for a third season.
