Variational is a decentralized peer-to-peer trading protocol on Arbitrum specializing in perpetuals and derivatives. Its flagship app, Omni, offers zero-fee trading and has confirmed that 50% of the total VAR token supply is allocated to the community through an ongoing points program.
Status: Active (points program running)
Token confirmed: VAR, community allocation confirmed at 50% of total supply
Points program launched: December 17, 2025
Program runs: No later than the end of Q3 2026
TGE date: Not announced
Access: Private beta, requires a whitelisted address or referral code
Omni aggregates liquidity from centralized exchanges, decentralized exchanges, DeFi protocols, and OTC sources through the Omni Liquidity Provider, which has generated yields as high as 369% annualized over the past 90 days for community depositors, according to the platform.
Variational raised $10.3 million in a seed round backed by Bain Capital Crypto, Peak XV Partners, Coinbase Ventures, and Dragonfly, according to The Block, bringing total funding to $61.8 million across additional investors including Mirana Ventures, Caladan, and Zoku Ventures.

Am I Eligible For The Variational Airdrop?
Omni is currently in private beta. You need either a whitelisted address or a valid referral code to create an account. You can request one in the official Variational Discord. Omni is not available to US or Canadian persons. Traders elsewhere can connect an Arbitrum wallet, obtain an access code, and deposit USDC to start earning points.
Points track cumulative trading volume and referrals rather than profit, so eligibility comes from steady activity, not winning trades. Accounts that started trading before December 17, 2025 receive a permanent 10% points boost that late joiners do not get.
How to Participate In the Variational Airdrop?
- Request a whitelisted address or referral code through the official Variational Discord, since Omni mainnet requires one to create an account.
- Go to the Omni trading platform and connect an Arbitrum-compatible wallet such as MetaMask or Rabby. Switch to the Arbitrum One network when prompted, then enter your access code to finish account creation.
- Fund your account with USDC on Arbitrum, which is the only collateral Omni accepts. If you do not hold USDC on Arbitrum, buy it on an exchange and bridge it over using a cross-chain bridge such as Rhino.fi. Deposit only what you intend to trade actively, since this is leveraged trading.
- Open long or short positions across the available perpetual markets. Your 30-day trading volume determines your tier, which in turn determines your weekly points allocation and boost multiplier. Points are distributed every Friday at 00:00 UTC.
- After closing a losing trade, check the Rewards page for the Loss Refund section. Eligible trades carry roughly a 1% to 5% chance of a refund, with better odds at higher tiers.
- Once you reach approximately $1 million in cumulative trading volume, you unlock your own referral code. Referrers earn 5% of the spread paid by their referrals in USDC, 1 point for every 10 points their referrals earn, and a tier-based share of their referrals’ loss refunds, scaling up to 10% at the highest tier.
Variational’s TradFi Trading Competition
Variational is running its fourth trading competition on Omni, with a $20,000 prize pool. The competition runs 14 days, starting June 29 at 00:00 UTC and ending July 13 at 00:00 UTC. Rankings are based on the trading competition tab’s score column, which only counts activity on TradFi markets.
To participate, trade on the Omni platform and track your ranking on the trading competition tab of the leaderboard. After the competition ends, you must complete KYC to claim any prize. Prizes are paid to the Arbitrum address connected to each competitor’s account within a week of submitting KYC.

Risks of Participating in the Variational Airdrop
Trading on Omni involves real, leveraged capital, and the token side of this airdrop remains entirely unconfirmed. Here is what to weigh before you commit to anything.
No TGE Date Has Been Announced
Variational has confirmed the 50% community allocation but has not published a token generation event date or a conversion formula for how Omni Points translate into VAR tokens. Your share would scale with your points relative to total points distributed, but the exact mechanism is not yet public.
This Is Leveraged Trading With Real Capital
Earning points beyond a signup bonus requires trading perpetuals with real USDC, and Omni supports up to 50x leverage. Leveraged trading can result in losses that exceed your deposit. The Loss Refund system only returns a portion of losses on a subset of trades, and it is not a hedge against real risk.
Geographic Restrictions Apply
Omni is not available to US or Canadian citizens. Confirm whether perpetual futures trading is legal where you live before funding an account.
Late Joiners Lose a Structural Advantage
The permanent 10% boost only applies to accounts that traded before December 17, 2025. Joining now means earning at the standard rate without that multiplier.
Platform Is Still in Private Beta
Omni requires a whitelisted address or referral code to access, which suggests the platform is still in its early rollout. Early-stage DeFi protocols carry smart contract and operational risks that mature platforms have had more time to work through.

Frequently Asked Questions
Need a refresher? Here are the questions most readers ask about the Variational airdrop before getting started.
When will the VAR token airdrop happen?
Variational has not announced a TGE date, and the VAR token has not launched. The Omni Points program runs no later than the end of Q3 2026, so distribution would most likely follow after that program concludes.
Is the Variational airdrop free to join?
There are no trading fees on Omni, but earning Omni Points requires trading perpetuals with real USDC on Arbitrum. You can request access without buying a token, though active trading puts capital at risk through leverage.
How do Omni Points convert into VAR tokens?
The exact conversion formula has not been published. Variational has confirmed a 50% community allocation of the total VAR supply, and points track participation, so your share would scale with your points relative to total points distributed across all users.
What happens if I join the points program late?
You can still earn points and climb reward tiers, but the permanent 10% boost applies only to accounts that traded before December 17, 2025. Late joiners earn points at the standard rate without that structural advantage.
Can I participate in Variational from any country?
Omni is not available to US or Canadian citizens. Traders in other countries can connect an Arbitrum wallet, obtain an access code through the Variational Discord, and deposit USDC on Arbitrum to start earning points.
