Is XRP the same as Ripple?
No. Ripple is a US company that builds payment software. XRP is the token of the XRP Ledger, an open blockchain that anyone can use. Ripple holds a large amount of XRP and uses it in some of its products, but it does not control the ledger.
How do I buy XRP?
You buy XRP on a crypto exchange that lists it, usually with a bank transfer or card, then move it to a wallet you control if you plan to hold it. Our step-by-step guide shows how.
Can you stake XRP?
Not natively. The XRP Ledger does not use staking to secure the network, so there are no staking rewards built in. Some platforms pay interest on XRP deposits, which carries the platform's risk, and fake "XRP staking" sites are a common scam.

How did the SEC case against Ripple end?
