What Is Binance Launchpad? How It Works and Past Projects

binance launchpad

In the ever-evolving world of cryptocurrency, exciting new projects are constantly emerging. But getting these projects off the ground can be challenging, often requiring significant funding. This is where Binance Launchpad steps in, acting as a springboard for promising blockchain ventures.

Binance Launchpad is the token sale platform of the cryptocurrency exchange Binance. It helps early-stage projects raise capital by selling their tokens to Binance users. Its first sale, BitTorrent (BTT), ran on January 28, 2019, and Arkham (ARKM) in July 2023 was the 32nd project. As of October 2026, Binance’s announcements show no Launchpad sale after Arkham and no statement that the program has ended. Since then Binance has handed out new tokens through programs such as Launchpool and HODLer Airdrops, which reward users who lock or hold BNB and other assets on the exchange.

Imagine something like this, a young company has a brilliant idea for a new cryptocurrency project but it lacks the financial muscle to make it a reality. Binance Launchpad steps in, allowing them to present their vision to a vast audience of potential investors. These investors, in turn, have the chance to support these early-stage projects and potentially reap the rewards if the ventures succeed.

Essentially, Binance Launchpad fosters a symbiotic relationship between innovative blockchain startups and the crypto community. It empowers new projects to take flight while offering investors access to exciting opportunities at the forefront of this dynamic and ever-changing landscape.

The two best-known Launchpad projects are Axie Infinity (AXS) and Polygon (MATIC, now POL). AXS sold at $0.10 in November 2020 and reached a high of $164.90 on November 6, 2021, which is 1,649 times the sale price. MATIC sold at $0.00263 in April 2019 and peaked at $2.92 on December 27, 2021, or 1,110 times. Those multiples compare the sale price with each token’s peak. As of October 29, 2026, CoinGecko shows AXS about 99% below its 2021 high, and POL, which replaced MATIC at 1 MATIC = 1 POL in 2024, more than 95% below MATIC’s peak.

How did Binance Launchpad token sales work?

In a Launchpad sale, verified Binance users committed BNB, up to a limit set by the BNB they held, to buy a new token at a fixed price before it began trading. The first sales, including BitTorrent in January 2019, were first come, first served, and later ones such as Matic Network in April 2019 and Axie Infinity in November 2020 used lottery draws. Binance introduced a subscription format with SafePal (SFP) on February 1, 2021, and later sales, including Arkham, used it.

Under the subscription format, Binance recorded each user’s BNB balance for six days (July 11 to 17, 2023, in Arkham’s case) and used the daily average to set the most BNB that user could commit. Subscription then opened for 24 hours. Committed BNB was locked until the tokens were distributed, and users first signed a Token Purchase Agreement. Arkham’s sale had a hard cap of $2.5 million, a limit of $15,000 per user and a price of $0.05 per ARKM. In March 2023 Binance moved from one balance snapshot per hour to several after some users borrowed large amounts of BNB elsewhere to inflate their balances.

What does Binance offer instead of Launchpad sales?

Binance now offers Launchpool and HODLer Airdrops, which hand out new tokens to users who lock or hold assets, with no sale involved. Megadrop, a third program, has had no new project since April 2025.

  • Launchpool (first project: CertiK, October 2020): users lock BNB or stablecoins for a few days and farm a new token. In the Opinion (OPN) Launchpool of March 3 and 4, 2026, users locked BNB, USDC, U or USD1, could claim rewards at any time and had their funds returned at the end. BNB already in Simple Earn or On-Chain Yields products took part automatically. Opinion was Binance’s 72nd Launchpool project.
  • HODLer Airdrops (launched June 19, 2024): BNB subscribed to Simple Earn or On-Chain Yields earns airdrops of tokens that are about to list on Binance, based on past balance snapshots. Each announcement sets a cap on the BNB counted per user. OpenGradient (OPG), announced June 30, 2026, was the 66th project.
  • Megadrop (launched April 18, 2024): users locked BNB in Simple Earn Locked Products and finished Web3 Wallet quests to build a score, and rewards followed the score. BounceBit (BB) came first, and the latest in Binance’s announcements is KernelDAO (KERNEL) on April 1, 2025.

Eligibility is similar across the programs. Users must complete account verification and live in an eligible jurisdiction, and each announcement lists excluded countries. The United States and its territories were excluded in the Arkham, Opinion, OpenGradient and BounceBit announcements. The June 30, 2026 HODLer Airdrops announcement also excluded Australia, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, the Netherlands, New Zealand, the United Kingdom and others, so check the current list before you lock any BNB.

Tokens from these programs can lose value after they list. Binance’s own announcements warn that digital asset prices are volatile and that you may not get back what you put in. Read the project’s research report and the program’s rules before you lock any funds.
