The IOTA Foundation has been working with Audi’s Think Tank in Berlin with the intention to explore Tangle-based use cases. The information has been released by Alisa Maas, Head of Mobility and Automotive at the IOTA Foundation on July the 25th.
IOTA Foundation Tries New Tangle-based Mobility Use Cases
The Audi Denkwerkstatt (Audi’s Think Tank), has seven Audi employees that support 15 colleagues from different business areas, levels, and age groups. The main intention is to generate, validate and implement ideas about premium mobility for he next six months.
This agreement between these two organizations will be very important for the IOTA Foundation and community that is expanding all over the world.
The press release uploaded by The IOTA Foundation reads as follows:
“This new way of working is exemplary for how car manufacturers approach innovation and is a great opportunity for IOTA to be maybe integrated into a new mobility solution with expertise from Audi.”
IOTA’s open source protocol has been created to be an innovation accelerator for different businesses and ideas that are reliant on trust in data and scalable.
Audi Denkwerkstatt explains that the term ‘mobility’ goes beyond the car, and it encompasses infrastructure solutions and new concepts of locomotion, including pedestrians. And of course, there is an important question about how to define premium mobility.
In the past, IOTA has been working in many different areas of mobility, including with Volkswagen. Indeed, both companies presented a Proof of Concept during the Cebit summit that was held on June the 11th. As we reported at UseTheBitcoin some time ago, the partnership tried to address the lack of security on data that is kept in centralized storage.
The partnership signed promotes the use of IOTA’s Tangle as a safe storage medium for over-the-air update documentation.
At the moment of writing this article, IOTA is one of the most important virtual currencies in the market.
