The cryptocurrency exchange BitFlyer has just added support to XRP. This would allow its large number of users to buy, sell and hold XRP and diversify their portfolios.

BitFlyer is located in Japan and is recognized for having one of the largest real tradings volumes in the market.

BitFlyer Adds XRP Support

According to a recent announcement made by the company, the cryptocurrency started to be traded on December 2 and it will help users add a new digital asset to their portfolios.

The exchange informed that XRP is the currency that boasts Japan’s second-largest domestic trade volume after Bitcoin.

The digital currency can be bought and sold through the platform’s Altcoin Market using web browsers or the Buy/Sell option on the bitFlyer Wallet application for both Android and iOS.

Moreover, the crypto exchange is holding a campaign in which ten winners will receive 100,000 JPY ($912 USD). There are going to be ten winners of the 100,000 JPY that would start participating after they trade XRP during the campaign period.

The campaign period starts on Monday, December 2, 2019, and it finishes on December 26, 2019. Users will have to make at least one trade on XRP markets for at least 5,000 JPY ($45,63 USD)

The winners will be notified to receive the rewards once the campaign finishes. However, they will receive the funds as soon as in January 2020.

In general, when an exchange adds a cryptocurrency to its platform, they usually create a marketing campaign that would allow them to create liquidity and attract traders.

This is the first time that the cryptocurrency exchange adds a new cryptocurrency to its platform in almost two years.

During the last few years, the cryptocurrency market changed and it evolved into a very complex ecosystem with growing digital assets and services.

XRP is one of the largest cryptocurrencies in the market. Indeed, it has the third largest valuation in the crypto space after Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

According to data provided by CoinMarketCap, each XRP can be purchased for $0.2205 and it has a market capitalization of $9.55 billion.

Despite being traded in one of the most popular exchanges in Japan, the digital currency didn’t seem to react to it. At the moment, XRP is falling 0.57% in a period of 24 hours. Similar to other cryptocurrencies among the top 10.
