In an exclusive 48-hour sale, online art retailer Avante Art is extending an opportunity for CryptoPunk NFT owners to acquire tangible print versions of their prized digital assets. This limited-time sale, a collaborative venture with the CryptoPunks brand proprietor, Yuga Labs, commenced on October 26 at 3:00 p.m. UTC and is slated to conclude on October 28 at 3:00 p.m. UTC.
Avante Art is presenting two distinct CryptoPunks print collections. The “Punk-On-Chain” series allows individual punk holders to commission a tangible print for each digital punk in their possession, with the stipulation of proving on-chain ownership. This provision ensures that only genuine CryptoPunk NFT owners can avail themselves of the corresponding print.
Conversely, the “10,000 On-Chain” collection offers a printed compilation of the entire 10,000 CryptoPunks range, available for purchase by any enthusiast, irrespective of their on-chain punk ownership.
The two print variants are discernible through several features. While the 10,000 On-Chain prints employ Archival pigment prints supplemented by a silkscreen varnish seal, the Punk-On-Chain versions utilize UV pigment prints fortified with white underpins. The authenticity of both editions is vouched for by a unique holographic sticker from Yuga Labs.
Additional verification for the Punks-On-Chain prints is provided through a QR code on the print’s reverse, directing users to a blockchain-anchored digital Certificate of Authenticity (CoA). In contrast, the 10,000 On-Chain prints are accompanied by a tangible CoA equipped with a QR code, although this QR code isn’t directly printed on the artwork.
Originating from the creative minds at Larva Labs, CryptoPunks represents one of the pioneering art collections that harness the power of blockchain for distribution. Introduced in June 2017, these NFTs, once freely available to Ethereum enthusiasts, now command a minimum price tag of around $78,000. With a staggering valuation exceeding $782 million for the entire series, CryptoPunks have etched an indelible mark in the NFT world. Notably, Larva Labs transitioned the CryptoPunks copyrights to Yuga Labs in March 2022.
