The Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinex announced on X that they are resuming deposits and withdrawals for Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and other cryptocurrencies. They have also mentioned that deposits and withdrawals for 180 other digital assets will be resumed on Sept. 22nd at 03:00 UTC.
Coinex Restores BTC, ETH Deposits and Withdrawals
The cryptocurrency exchange Coinex announced on X a few hours ago that deposits and withdrawals are now available for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether (USDT), USD Coin (USDC), and other virtual currencies. It is very important for users to know that old addresses can’t be used and assets will be lost if they are sent to the old addresses.Â

This comes after the hack that the exchange experienced a few weeks ago. At UseTheBitcoin we reported that Coinex was affected by an attack from the North Korean hacking group Lazarus that resulted in $70M worth of digital assets lost.Â
It is worth mentioning that not all deposits and withdrawals are available as of today. Indeed, in another X threat, the company explained that they would resume deposit and withdrawal services for 180 other ERC20 tokens. This will start on September 22 at 03:00 UTC.Â
Scammers have also taken the initiative and have been promoting their services to withdraw funds from CoinEx. Therefore, it is very important to stay alert and to make sure that only official information is shared from CoinEx exchange. Right now, users are waiting for the upcoming 180 tokens to be available for deposits and withdrawals in order for the exchange to return to its normal operations as soon as possible.Â
