The popular and recognized cryptocurrency exchange Gemini launched a new platform in Australia. The goal is to welcome new users from this country that will now be able to buy, sell and store digital currencies, including Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Zcash (ZEC) and Litecoin (LTC). The information was released on August 21st by Tyler Winklevoss in a blog post

Gemini Exchange Launches In Australia

Australians will now have the possibility to invest in cryptocurrencies using the recognized Gemini exchange created by the Winklevoss twins. The goal of the crypto platform is to expand around the world and bring their platform to as many countries as possible. At the same time, the exchange wants to offer an easy way for individuals to have access to the crypto market. 

In the blog post released by Tyler, he wrote:

“We want individuals and institutions around the world to have a safe and easy way to buy, sell, and store cryptocurrency and engage in this new digital economy. We have built an institutional-grade exchange and custody solution that operates on the principles of security, transparency, and compliance; trust is our product.”

According to the blog post, Australia is the 12th largest market for Bitcoin trading volume around the world. They consider that landing in the country will help Australia improve its position in the market, considering that the digital currency platform is already available in many other jurisdictions. 

Gemini is one of the few crypto-related companies that was able to acquire tha BitLicense license granted by the regulatory agency of the State of New York, the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). The crypto platform is also available in a total of 49 U.S. states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea, the United Kingdom and now Australia. 

At the time of writing this article, Gemini is the 86th largest cryptocurrency exchange in the market according to its trading volume. As CoinMarketCap registered in the last 24 hours, Gemini handled more than $20 million in volume for its 15 different trading pairs. The most traded virtual currency at the exchange is Bitcoin followed by Ethereum and Litecoin. 

There are other cryptocurrency platforms operating in Australia, including Coinbase, CoinMama, Kraken, Kucoin, Bitfinex, OKEx and many others. According to CryptoCompare, Gemini is one of the best-ranked exchanges taking into account different variables and factors.
