According to a press release published on the official website of North Korea, the country will host a crypto and blockchain summit in April of 2019. The event will go on for eight days and participants will also get a chance to visit different locations in the country and experience its culture.
So this event is definitely for crypto enthusiasts that may find themselves with some free time and money come next year April.
Lectures will Be Held At North Korea’s Science And Technology Complex
The Korean Friendship Association announced the release. The body said preparations were underway to open North Korea’s doors to investors and cryptocurrency fans from around the world to get to visit Pyongyang and share their experiences.
The event is scheduled to last for eight days with lectures being given at North Korea’s Science and Technology Complex.
The programme also includes visits to several other locations such as the Museum of the Korean War, a beer factory, the border between North and South Korea, Kaeson, Pyongyang University of Foreign Languages and the Great People’s Study House.
In the FAQ section of the website, the organizers are keen to address some of the issues that may be of interest to visitors.
“The DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) can be considered the safest country in the world.”
“As long as you have a basic common-sense and respect for the culture and belief of other nations, you’ll be always welcome and enjoy like thousands of friends we’ve been hosting for the past 28 years and engaged in cultural, sports, science or business relations.”
One of the event organizers is Chris Emms, a crypto expert who has previously advised businesses on the distributed ledger technology and the regulatory requirements needed in the space.
The attendees will have to part with 3,300 euros. Conference delegates will receive an all-inclusive stay in the country and also enjoy activities such as bowling, skating, shooting, and shopping.
However, the conference is not open to citizens of Japan, Israel, and South Korea. Also, journalists are not allowed to attend.
A note on the website warns:
“Any mass printed propaganda or digital/printed material against the dignity of the Republic is not allowed.”
The event will go on from 18th to 25th of April 2019.
