XRP Price Analysis September 7, 2026: XRP Defends Key Support Ahead of Fed Decision

XRP is trading around $1.41 after recovering from the low $1.30s, but buyers are still struggling to clear resistance between $1.43 and $1.50.

The token rallied from roughly $0.99 on August 11 to around $1.70 on August 22 before giving back part of those gains. XRP reached $1.47 on August 27 and $1.46 on September 4, but sellers repeatedly pushed the price back below $1.40.

Despite the pullback, XRP remains above its 200-day exponential moving average near $1.35. Spot trading volume has also climbed to its highest level in about six months, while US spot XRP ETFs have attracted roughly $1.68 billion in cumulative inflows.

XRP Faces a Short-Term Resistance Wall

The immediate level to watch for XRP is $1.43 in the short term. A clean break above $1.43 would put the broader $1.45 to $1.54 supply zone back in focus.

The $1.50 level is especially important because round-number prices often attract additional sell orders.

If buyers can reclaim that zone with stronger volume, XRP could begin rebuilding the bullish structure formed during the August breakout.

Table 1. XRP Key Levels to Watch

The 200-Day EMA Remains an Important Support

XRP is still holding above its long-term moving average near $1.35.

The 200-day EMA had previously been trending lower but has started to flatten, which makes the area an important technical level for the current recovery attempt.

XRP defending it keeps the broader rebound structure intact even though short-term momentum has cooled.

The first downside area to watch is around $1.25, where the 50-day EMA is currently sitting.

If $1.35 fails, traders could begin looking toward the $1.25 moving-average zone. A sustained break below the 200-day EMA would weaken the current setup and increase the risk of a deeper retracement.

XRP ETF Inflows Provide Support

Institutional demand remains one of the stronger parts of XRP’s market setup.

US spot XRP ETFs have attracted around $1.68 billion in cumulative inflows since launch, while combined net assets reached approximately $1.48 billion by early September, according to SoSoValue data. One of the larger funds alone held more than 362 million XRP worth roughly $507.5 million.

Those flows have continued despite XRP’s recent price volatility.

ETF demand does not guarantee that XRP will break resistance, but continued inflows can provide an additional source of spot demand as traders attempt to push the token back above $1.50.

Fed’s Upcoming Decision Adds Macro Risk

The Federal Reserve’s September 16 Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting remains one of the main macro events ahead.

Last week’s US jobs report showed 162,000 jobs added in August, tripling against expectations of roughly 53,000. Stronger labor data has increased the case for tighter monetary policy, while the 10-year Treasury yield recently climbed to around 4.82%.

Higher yields can pressure crypto assets by making lower-risk investments more attractive.

For XRP, the timing is particularly important because the token is already trading directly below a major resistance area. A more hawkish Fed could make a breakout harder, while a less aggressive policy signal could give risk assets more room to recover.

As of this writing, the odds of a possible interest rate hike are 58.4%, according to CME FedWatch data.

Regulatory Uncertainty in the US Remains in Focus

The CLARITY Act is another event traders are monitoring, although XRP already has more legal clarity than it did during its long-running SEC dispute.

The token has held around $1.40 despite uncertainty surrounding the bill’s progress through the Senate. Prediction-market odds of the legislation being signed in 2026 have fallen sharply from levels seen earlier in the year.

The market impact may therefore depend more on whether the legislation changes XRP’s long-term regulatory position than on any single vote.

In the near term, price structure, ETF flows, and the Fed may matter more for XRP’s next move.

ScenarioPrice TriggerPossible Outcome
Bullish CaseXRP closes above $1.43 and clears $1.50Momentum improves, opening the $1.54 area and potentially a retest of $1.70
Base CaseXRP stays between $1.35 and $1.43Consolidation continues ahead of the Fed and regulatory catalysts
Bearish CaseXRP loses the $1.35 200-day EMA and then the $1.25 50-day EMAShort-term structure weakens, and a deeper correction becomes more likely

Table 2. XRP Bullish, Base and Bearish Scenarios

These scenarios are based on the current technical structure and can change as volume, macro conditions, and ETF flows develop.

Bottom Line

XRP remains in a recovery structure, but $1.43 is still the first level buyers need to clear.

A sustained breakout above $1.43 would put $1.50 and the broader $1.45 to $1.54 resistance area in focus. Holding above $1.35 keeps the short-term range intact.

ETF inflows and stronger spot volume are supportive, but this week’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation report on Friday, September 11, and the FOMC on September 16 could determine whether XRP has enough momentum to break through resistance or return toward support.

Frequently Asked Questions

Need a refresher? Here are some common questions traders are asking about XRP right now.

Why Is XRP Struggling to Break $1.50?

XRP has repeatedly faced selling pressure around $1.43 to $1.50. Traders who bought during the August rally may also be using rebounds into this area to exit positions, adding supply near resistance.

How Do Fed Interest Rate Decisions Affect XRP?

Higher interest rates can strengthen Treasury yields and reduce demand for risk assets. XRP can be particularly volatile during Fed events because altcoins often react more sharply than Bitcoin to changes in market risk appetite.

Are XRP ETF Inflows Bullish for the Price?

ETF inflows can create additional demand for XRP, but they do not guarantee higher prices. Price also depends on broader crypto sentiment, liquidity, derivatives positioning, and macro conditions.

Does the CLARITY Act Still Matter for XRP?

Yes, but XRP already has more legal clarity than many other digital assets following the conclusion of Ripple’s SEC case. The bill could provide a broader federal framework, although short-term price action may depend more heavily on macro conditions and market flows.

Why Is Trading Volume Important for XRP?

Higher spot volume can make a breakout more convincing because it shows stronger participation behind the move. A break above resistance on weak volume is generally easier to reverse than one supported by sustained buying.
