OpenMind Airdrop Guide: The Waitlist, ROBO Token and Claims

OpenMind

Status (October 2026): The OpenMind waitlist this guide covers has closed, and its site, fabric.openmind.org, is offline. The airdrop came later through ROBO, the token of OpenMind’s FABRIC network. ROBO is issued by the Fabric Foundation, a non-profit that lists OpenMind as an early contributor. Eligible users registered from February 20 to 24, 2026, ROBO launched on February 27, and the claim window closed on March 13, 2026 at 03:00 UTC, so claims are no longer open. We found no second ROBO airdrop. The Foundation’s newer programs, ROBO governance on Snapshot (July 2026) and RoboPay, are not airdrops. Sources: Fabric Foundation, KuCoin News.

Key Takeaways

  • OpenMind, founded by Stanford professor Jan Liphardt, is developing a decentralized operating system called FABRIC for intelligent machines, enabling secure, hardware-agnostic collaboration among robots using blockchain technology, likened to “Linux on Ethereum” for robotics.
  • On August 4th, 2025, OpenMind raised $20 million in a funding round led by Pantera Capital, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Digital Currency Group, Ribbit Capital, and others, to advance FABRIC and OM1, aiming to scale engineering and global partnerships.
  • The funding, backed by major blockchain and tech investors, underscores OpenMind’s role in merging AI, robotics, and blockchain, aiming to break proprietary ecosystem barriers and create an open, interoperable network for robots, and at the time it planned to ship its first fleet of robotic dogs by September 2025.
  • The Fabric Foundation launched ROBO, the token of OpenMind’s FABRIC network, on February 27, 2026. Its airdrop claim window closed on March 13, 2026.

Disclaimer: Crypto airdrops are promotional events where tokens are distributed to existing holders of a cryptocurrency or to individuals who meet certain criteria. While airdrops can be a way to acquire tokens at no cost, they also involve risks. There’s no guarantee that the airdropped tokens will increase in value, and there may be associated fees or requirements. Additionally, airdrops can be susceptible to scams and phishing attempts. Always exercise caution and verify the legitimacy of any airdrop opportunity before participating.

What Is OpenMind?

1500x500 2

OpenMind is a project dedicated to advancing the development of intelligent machines through the creation of OM1, an open-source operating system tailored for robots and AI agents.

The project aims to provide a software ecosystem that simplifies the integration of multiple AI models into cohesive, multimodal decision-making and control systems. OM1 enables robots to process diverse data inputs—such as visual, auditory, and sensory data—to perform complex tasks in real-world environments. By emphasizing modularity and interoperability, OpenMind empowers developers to build sophisticated robotic systems that can adapt and operate effectively in dynamic settings.

In addition to OM1, OpenMind is developing FABRIC, a decentralized AI control layer designed to coordinate extensive robotic operations, enhancing scalability and collaboration across systems.

These technologies position OpenMind at the forefront of embodied AI, where robots interact with the physical world, with applications ranging from autonomous robots to humanoid systems.

OpenMind raised $20 million in a funding round led by Pantera Capital on August 4th, 2025, with participation from Coinbase Ventures, Digital Currency Group, Ribbit Capital, and others.

As stated earlier, the company is developing OM1, a universal, hardware-agnostic operating system for humanoid robots, and FABRIC, a decentralized protocol for secure robot-to-robot and human-to-robot collaboration, aiming to create an open, interoperable ecosystem for intelligent machines, likened to “Android for robotics.”

OpenMind said the funding would support expanding its engineering team, deploying its first fleet of 10 OM1-powered robotic dogs by September 2025 for real-world testing, and advancing FABRIC to enable secure, scalable coordination across diverse robotic systems, addressing the limitations of single-vendor ecosystems.

How The OpenMind Waitlist Worked

In 2025, users joined the waitlist on OpenMind’s FABRIC site and completed onboarding tasks, such as connecting social media accounts and referring friends to earn points. Access was granted based on a user’s rank on the waitlist, determined by their engagement and points earned.

The steps users followed in 2025:

👉 STEP 1: Users went to https://fabric.openmind.org/ (now offline) and registered for the waitlist.

👉 STEP 5: From September 10, 2025, OpenMind invited waitlist users in weekly batches to Season 1 of a points campaign in its new OpenMind app. The airdrop came later through ROBO: claims ran from February 27 to March 13, 2026, and are now closed.
