US Facebook and Instagram Users Can Share NFTs Across Platforms

Users in the United States can crosspost non-fungible tokens (NFTs) between Facebook and Instagram, two of the largest social media networks in the world. This is part of Meta’s plan to expand their presence in the Metaverse and increase the use cases and flexibility of NFTs that are posted on both of these social media platforms. 

Facebook and Instagram Users Can Crosspost NFTs

In 2021, we have seen a large expansion of digital currencies and blockchain networks. That includes non-fungible tokens, collectables, and other crypto-related projects. Facebook, for example, decided to change its name to Meta, in order to reflect this trend toward the Metaverse. 

At that time, MANA, the virtual currency of the digital world Decentraland skyrocketed to unprecedented levels thanks to Facebook’s decision to change its name. Decentraland was the first metaverse to be released in the crypto ecosystem and remains the most popular platform for users that enjoy Virtual Reality and online worlds. 

Thanks to this approach, users of both Instagram and Facebook in the United States and other markets will be able to use this feature that connects both social media networks. In order to start making good use of this opportunity, users can connect their wallets to their social media accounts and enjoy these benefits. 

Some of the wallets that are currently supported for NFTs include Rainbow, Trust Wallet, Dapper, Coinbase Wallet, and MetaMask. In the future, the number of wallets that would support these features on the Meta platform could be even larger. 

This comes after initial support to NFTs by Meta’s platforms earlier this year. Therefore, despite the current bear market, Meta continues to expand its offering and solutions for users that love non-fungible tokens and that enjoy collecting different tokens.

Users are now able to connect a digital wallet to these platforms allowing creators to choose which NFTs from the wallet they want to share on Instagram or Facebook. Moreover, they will have the possibility to tagging creators and collectors and share them with the community. 

At the same time, Meta informed the community that they will also expand access to digital collectables soon. That means that they will be also bringing the benefits of owning NFTs to a larger number of creators and collectors from all around the world. Right now, there are hundreds of profiles on Instagram and Facebook sharing regular NFT updates, digital art, and many other NFT collections. 

It is also worth taking into consideration that Meta is also working in order to expand its AR capabilities. The company is working order to share digital collectables as AR stickers in Instagram Stories, something that could make the whole experience even better from the point-of-view of the user. 

“Over the coming months, we will explore additional features to provide further benefits of this technology to creators and collectors,” informed Meta in a recently published post.
