EthenaPay Launches on Avalanche for Stablecoin Payments and Savings

EthenaPay, a non-custodial money app built around USDe and sUSDe, launched in beta on September 1, 2026 and is now live in 49 countries across Latin America, the Caribbean, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Oceania. The app lets users save, send, and spend stablecoins across borders, with balances earning yield automatically and no staking or lock-up required.

What EthenaPay Actually Offers

The app advertises up to 6% annual yield on dollar balances, paid daily, according to EthenaPay’s official platform. That rate combines the prevailing USDe base rate, which moves with market conditions, with a discretionary “Daily Boost” layered on top depending on a user’s tier, capped at $5,000 for the Standard tier, $15,000 for Pro, and $50,000 for VIP.

Users can also spend through a virtual Visa card accepted at more than 130 million merchants worldwide, earning up to 5% cashback in AVAX, Avalanche’s native token, on qualifying purchases. Sending money between EthenaPay users is free, and users can withdraw to any external wallet or bank account at any time, since the app never takes custody of funds.

The Infrastructure Behind the App

EthenaPay runs on the same infrastructure already securing more than $30 billion in total USDe mint and redeem volume with zero loss of user funds, and more than $750 million paid out to holders to date. That infrastructure recently expanded onto Avalanche specifically, after Ethena Labs announced that USDe and sUSDe had gone live on the network.

That expansion gives EthenaPay’s cashback and spend features a direct tie to Avalanche, since card rewards are paid out in AVAX rather than a separate token.

Where the App Is Available Today

EthenaPay’s jurisdiction list currently spans 49 countries, including 17 in Latin America, 12 in the Caribbean, nine each in Asia and the Middle East and in Africa, and two in Oceania, according to EthenaPay’s jurisdictions page. The company has said the US, EU, UK, Switzerland, Canada, Taiwan, and South Korea are coming soon, with availability expanding as local requirements are met.

Notably, the Spend Card itself is only offered to non-US persons regardless of jurisdiction, so US-based users will not have access to that specific feature even once broader availability expands.

Why This Matters for Stablecoin Adoption

For readers following how stablecoin issuers are moving beyond trading and DeFi into everyday consumer finance, Ethena Labs’ expansion into a full payments and savings app is a concrete example of that shift.

It’s worth tracking alongside broader crypto news, since consumer-facing stablecoin apps competing directly with neobanks and traditional savings accounts represent a different adoption path than exchange-based trading.

What this means for you: If you live in one of EthenaPay’s 49 supported countries and are looking for cross-border payment options with built-in yield, this app offers a non-custodial alternative to traditional banking rails, though the advertised yield is a discretionary promotional rate rather than guaranteed interest, and digital assets carry their own risks distinct from insured bank deposits.

This is not financial advice. Digital assets including stablecoins carry substantial risk and are not insured by any government deposit insurance scheme, and advertised yields are discretionary rates that can change, so review the platform’s terms and consider your own risk tolerance before using any stablecoin payment app.
