Worldwide Webb NFTs

A new retro-style Ethereum (ETH) non-fungible token (NFT) game was able to raise $10 million in funding from investors, including Pantera Capital. The game is called Worldwide Webb and it was founded by Thomas Webb, a recognized artist and also a game designer. This is the first time that the game gets external funding since it was released to the market in mid-2020.

NFT Metaverse Worldwide Webb Raises $10M in Funding Round

Worldwide Webb continues to attract users and investors thanks to its unique proposal: an MMO game with a retro look that makes users remember the old-fashion game consoles from the 90s. The game represents a unique opportunity for users as they can get access to over a million ETH NFT Avatars.

It is possible for players to use avatars from multiple (and known) collections such as Doodles, Deadfellaz, CryptoPunks and even the Bored Ape Yacht Club, among others. The possibilities are endless thanks to this game, which continues to attract people by creating its own style.

But how does the game work with the avatars? Well, the avatars presented by users will then be converted into 2D pixel characters. Players will be able to guide them through the world, interacting with many other players and exploring the whole map. Different environments are already ready for users to explore and engage with.

Worldwide Webb offers users the possibility to get access to NFT land as other metaverse games that expanded in recent years in the Web3 universe. There have been more than $80 million moved in terms of trading volume. Additionally, the founder of the game confirmed that they want to move faster and continue with their innovations.

About it Webb mentioned:

“We have been moving fast and we have been shipping products. But for us, it’s a case of wanting to move faster. We want to build faster, and we want to innovate faster.”

In the future, the goal is to offer an enhanced game narrative that would focus on better gameplay with a unique narrative. This could be a good opportunity to attract other players and increase their presence in the market.

“What I was really hoping to do was to see a metaverse game that people can go into, but they can bring these things in, in a permissionless manner,” Webb commented.

NFT Games Expanded In Recent Years

NFT games have gained significant popularity in recent years, providing gamers with a unique and exciting experience. These games enable players to own and trade digital assets such as avatars, in-game items, and virtual real estate.

The growth of NFT games has been fueled by the explosion of the blockchain industry, with more and more people investing in cryptocurrencies and digital assets. As a result, NFT games have become a significant part of the metaverse, allowing players to experience a new level of ownership and interaction with their virtual worlds.

One of the most significant impacts of NFT games is the ability for players to earn rewards in many different ways. For example, players can purchase rare in-game items and sell them for a profit, or they can create their own NFTs and sell them on various marketplaces.

The impact of NFT games on the gaming industry is still in its early stages, but it has the potential to revolutionize the way people play and interact with games. As more players become interested in blockchain technology and the metaverse, we can expect to see continued growth and innovation in the NFT gaming space (especially during bull markets in the crypto industry).
