Who Is Andrew Tate?

Emory Andrew Tate III is an influencer, businessman, and former professional kickboxer. He began hogging the spotlight in his kickboxing career in 2005 and eventually peaked in 2009 when he won the British International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA) Full Contact Cruiserweight Championship. During his prime, he was number one in Europe and started adopting the moniker “King Cobra.”

The athlete later joined reality shows like Ultimate Traveler and UK Big Brother. The latter exposed him to a broader audience, but it also gained him infamy along the way due to controversies, leading to his axing from the show.

Tate began amassing followers on social media when he established Hustler’s University in 2021. The platform focused on educating people to make passive income through online projects, but all of these crumbled due to scandalous allegations, including pyramid schemes.

Andrew Tate’s Current Charges

Tate is currently facing a series of accusations of rape, human trafficking, and involvement in an organized crime for sexual exploitation of women in Romania.

He was under house arrest, as confirmed by the Office of Information and Public Relations within the Romanian Directorate for the Investigation of Organized Crime and Terrorism. With him are four other accused, including his brother Tristan Tate.

From Crypto Hater To A Crypto Lover

Tate became widely known for commenting on every hot news topic, and his controversial posts always attracted attention on Twitter. Notably, in 2022, he was more searched on Google than Donald Trump and COVID-19.

He then started to comment on crypto.

At first, Tate was very skeptical about the space. He would comment on other people’s Twitter posts, saying it was a scam and that he hated NFTs. He also hated Crypto Twitter (CT) and said he did not want to launch a token.

However, he became a vocal proponent of the industry in future podcasts.

He argued that crypto is a way to challenge traditional financial systems and believes it offers financial freedom and an alternative to government-controlled currencies.

Andrew Tate’s Views On Bitcoin

In an interview with Bitcoin investor Anthony Pompliano, Tate talked about how life-changing crypto had been after he began studying more about money.

He highlighted how he liked Bitcoin because it is an asset the government cannot tamper with.

“So I was involved in purchasing my apartment in Qatar. The backflips, the paperwork, the legal nightmare. I swear to God I was put on a travel list for about a year after that I was stopped every airport just for a bank transfer. No problem with Bitcoin. No problem,” Tate said at the time.

Furthermore, Tate has also been quoted as having endorsed not just Bitcoin but also significant events in the ecosystem, such as the spot Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) that were approved early this year.

In an X post in September last year, he said he “was estimating the SEC approval of the Bitcoin spot ETF.” He’s also once supported billionaire Bitcoin bull Michael Saylor, referring to him as “a good example of someone who runs a net-benefit business” whilst criticizing Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF) for running a zero-benefit business [FTX].

Andrew Tate’s Celebrity Memecoins

Despite the controversy and legal issues, Andrew Tate’s transformation from a crypto skeptic to an advocate is now seen on social media, promoting crypto fervently and engaging with his followers.

He recently launched his own celebrity meme coins: Real Ni$$$r Tate ($RNT), Daddy Tate ($DADDY), and The Real World ($TRW).

Let’s get to know them one by one:

Real Ni$$$r Tate (RNT)

Real Ni$$$r Tate (RNT) is a celebrity memecoin launched in June 2024 on the Solana blockchain. The announcement at the time was a surprise as he had previously stated he would never get involved in meme coins and had insulted the people in the space.

A few weeks later, Tate promoted a memecoin called $DADDY and vowed to burn $100 million worth of cryptocurrency during a live stream.

The project embraces a humorous and provocative marketing strategy and emphasizes a rebellious, anti-establishment narrative.

In early July 2024, Tate was allowed to leave Romania while he awaits trial. The controversial influencer then announced a “European Tour” for $DADDY, the Solana-based token he has been promoting recently.

He then announced an airdrop of The Real World (TRW) token, backed by his educational business. Tate claims that the value of $TRW is directly linked to his enterprise’s profits, which reportedly are about $20 million per month.

Final Thoughts

Andrew Tate’s bid to convert all his funds into Bitcoin is based on his openness to the benefits of crypto. While many may not agree with his views on women and other controversial subjects, his take on Bitcoin and crypto strikes a chord with crypto enthusiasts.

He has yet to fully convert his assets into Bitcoin despite owning more crypto than fiat. While acknowledging the unconventional nature of this decision during turbulent economic times, Tate remains steadfast in his all-Bitcoin pursuit, promising to provide proof to his followers.
