Presence is redefining the landscape of online interaction with its revolutionary approach to social media!
First featured on Yahoo Finance in October 2023, a team of talented entrepreneurs introduced their platform, quickly gaining attention for its innovative features, which aim to enhance personal growth and community interaction, creating a more equitable online environment.
That said, we got the chance to interview the Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder of Presence, Kanji Low, during the recent Cebu Blockchain Conference 2025 in Cebu City, Philippines. This groundbreaking event is Cebu City’s first-ever crypto and blockchain conference in partnership with Web3 Cebu and WAV3.
What Is Presence?

Presence is a SocialFi platform that rewards users for their online attention. The platform is designed to foster a community where content creators and their audiences can collaborate and earn rewards through a user-moderated and attention-powered economy.
“Presence is a social self-development platform that allows you to turn your insights into income,” Kanji Low, Chief Operations Officer and Co-Founder of Presence, told UseTheBitcoin during the recent Cebu Blockchain Conference 2025. ”We do that by allowing you to unlock market interactions through paid DMs, paid lives, paid voice messages and live calls, which isn’t really on current social platforms,” Kanji added.
Presence aims to challenge the status quo by promoting digital freedom and transparency, ensuring that no central authority can easily control or restrict users’ accounts. As Kanji highlighted:
“With current social platforms, you do not actually own your social media profile, you don’t own your content, and you don’t have that sovereignty as a content creator to allow you to enjoy your passions and share more of your gifts. So, that’s what Presence actually does for you – it allows you to unlock a new tier of monetization for your content.”
How Does The Web3 Integration Work Within Presence?
It is worth noting Presence operates with both a Web2 system and a Web3 element.
As mentioned earlier, the Web2 system includes features like paid direct messages (DMs), paid live streams, paid calls, and paid messages which users can unlock through their engagement on the platform. This part functions similarly to traditional social media, where user insights or actions grant access to premium features.
On the other hand, the Web3 element introduces a layer of decentralization and privacy to the platform. It allows for a new level of privatization where the control over content is decentralized, meaning that the platform does not have centralized control over what users create or share.
“We carefully moderate the content and make sure we don’t flag any specific user types or content types. Our goal is to provide the content you want to put on so that people can enjoy it and for the community to build as well,” Kanji explained.
In terms of privacy, the decentralization provided by Web3 technologies means that user data and content are more secure and less susceptible to censorship or unauthorized access. Users have inherent ownership of their content, contrasting with traditional platforms where terms of service might grant the platform rights over user-generated content.
Presence Plans To Introduce New Features And Expand Into New Areas Of Digital Interaction
Presence has ambitious plans for expansion into new features and areas of digital interaction. Currently, the platform includes a Web2 layer alongside a smart contract foundation, but there’s a clear roadmap for integrating artificial intelligence (AI).
Additionally, Presence is looking to delve deeper into augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) features. Kanji shared that from the inception of Presence, the platform had the potential to introduce new “worlds” where users could experience content in AR and VR environments. These plans are set to be revisited, offering users new ways to interact with digital content in a more immersive setting.
Another significant area of focus is the further integration of blockchain technology. The goal is to ensure that the content users create is truly theirs by storing it on the blockchain rather than on centralized servers where ownership and privacy could be compromised:
“We don’t want to harvest that data from you; we want to reward you for your attention. And with the user-moderated ecosystem that we have, we can enable you to have those rewards straight into your arms and into your remit.”
Presence To Be At The Forefront Of Digital Freedom Evolving In The Next Decade
According to Kanji, users are increasingly aware of the value of their time, energy, and data on any online platform. This awareness is expected to grow, leading users to question the importance of digital freedom and control over their digital lives. Presence is currently positioning itself in this movement, advocating for and educating users on how they can achieve digital sovereignty:
“I feel like in the next few years, in regards to digital freedom, there will be a lot of people that are aware that your time, your energy, and what you spend on the platform, is very valuable. The more that you are aware that you do have that digital freedom, the more you will start to ask questions about why that’s important for you, and Presence is at the forefront of that.”
