Mastercard Recruits Blockchain Experts
According to the Irish Tech News, Mastercard announced that it will be increasing its presence in Ireland by hiring new employees. The main roles include software engineers, blockchain specialists, data scientists, project managers, analysts, product designers and more.  
The company is trying to improve its services, but more specifically, innovate with payments and ground-breaking security solutions.
The Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Ms. Heather Humphreys, commented:
“Mastercard’s decision to expand here is an important landmark and I warmly welcome the new jobs that are coming with the announcement. The Government has been working hard to ensure that we have the right conditions in place to attract the knowledge-based sectors to Ireland, in particular a skilled workforce that can fill the needs of companies like Mastercard.”
At the moment, the company has 380 members working in Leopardstown, and it is expanding so as to bring innovative payment solutions to the market. The location selected by Mastercard to expand its business has been chosen due to the openness that Ireland has towards new technologies and the fin-tech industry.
CEO of IDA Ireland, Martin Shanahan, said:
“Mastercard Ireland’s decision to locate 175 highly skilled jobs here underlines the continuing success of its Irish operation and the innovative approach and expertise of its team. Today’s announcement also emphasizes Ireland’s continuing attractiveness for payment and fin-tech companies.”
Different enterprises are starting to hire blockchain and cryptocurrency experts. There is an increased demand for these professionals. The offer is not enough to meet the total demand, and salaries tend to be higher than the average.
Moreover, different universities around the world are preparing their students with blockchain and virtual currency courses. Several countries have decided to support these technologies by improving their institutions and bureaucracies by introducing distributed ledger technology.
