At exactly 6 pm UTC+8 today, all SOUL related trading will start with supported pairs such as SOUL/BTC and SOUL/ETH.
About Phantasma Protocol
The Phantasma Protocol is a new approach for content distribution that operates in a decentralized way. The project’s page affirms that relying on centralized means of storage made by third-party companies can always be critical because these companies can all be hacked or even endure bankruptcy, which can cause issues to the users.
Key Feature
Phantasma will be backend-agnostic in the beginning, and it will be plausible to hold different backend storage systems to store the exact content of messages. They will enable support for third-party data backends; however, they will also create their own data storage called the Phantasma Data File System (PDFS). It will come in the third stage of the project and from then on will be the supported storage backend.
One of the principal features of any smart contract is immutability. But sometimes having a little bit of programmability is aspired. Enter the Phantasma VM — a blockchain-emulated general-purpose execution environment that makes the capacity to extend sub-contracts to NEO without funding the full costs of a NEO contract.
Phantasma Network token – SOUL
The NEP-5 SOUL token is the fuel of the Phantasma network, working as the source for all the economic incentives connecting consumers, producers, and operators.
Phantasma promotes the natural flow of then tokens among users: consumers require tokens to compensate for data, these tokens go to producers and developers, who need them to pay for storage and network assistance. From there, the Node rewards are redistributed to all node operators, which should expectedly incorporate many simple users/consumers. Thus the ecosystem is intended to foster the increasing use of SOULs among all participants in the network, with an appreciating opportunity for the token value.
The Team Behind Phantasma
The three co-founders of the Phantasma Protocol are the Portuguese engineers Sérgio Flores, Miguel Ferreira and the marketer Alexandre Paixão. Other principal members of the team include Sérfio Pereira (business and finances), Bruno Freitas (mobile engineer), Bernardo Punho (QA engineer), Rafael Barbosa (designer) and Arvind Alexander (legal).
The Phantasma Protocol also has four advisors namely, Laurence Seidler, Neeraj Murarka, Gordon Hall and Fernando Toledano.
